What started as a simple April 1st joke turned out to be a hell on wheels as it kept on spinning around from person to person and at the end we couldn't control it ourselves, to be exact,
I've stepped in my own trap!
So, here it goes.
April 1st, around 2 AM, I phoned Atlija and Alex to tell 'em I'm gonna do Fool's Day prank about Motherpig getting disbanded. They said it's OK, so I proceeded on writing huge fake text about reasons why Motherpig disbanded. To be more convinicing, I've posted it on Myspace, Facebook and website
of Motherpig, deleting Atlija from the list of friends on Facebook.
What happened - people started mailing me furiously about Atlija, how they're sorry and how it will get better, how he's an asshole and poor soul who don't know what he has done. As far as I know, I've talked
with Atlija over the phone and he says he got some bad comments also, plus Kruno, booking agent of Concrete Sox gig told me people asked him what happened and why Motherpig will not come to Osijek.
As the joke unfolded, I've got message from Alex sayin' I can go to hell because people have been really persistant and boring, constantly asking what the fuck happened. It's all a great joke, but now I see people really like this band, bunch of Myspace and Facebook messages, although some people figured out our joke at the start point (basically people who know me and Atlija way too well).
So, to make it clear...
IT WAS ALL JUST A JOKE.
MOTHERPIG IS NOT DEAD. TO BE HONEST, IT'S HEALTHIER THAN EVER!
ATLIJA, ALEX AND SHARAN ARE MOTHERPIG.
WE WILL PLAY CONCRETE SOX SHOW IN OSIJEK ON APRIL 11TH 2010. BE THERE.
WE WILL TOUR EU IN OCTOBER.
WE THANK YOU ALL FOR MAILS AND PHONE CALLES OF SUPPORT. WE LOVE AND RESPECT ALL OF YOU, GUYS AND GIRLS.

April 1st afternoon, I've sent FB message to Atlija sayin' I will add him back to my friends list on April 2nd and how I will write this letter to explain everyone that it was a joke. This is the message I've got back, roughly translated in English:
"Go to hell, people keep on calling whole day, calling me asshole and shithead, sayin' to me I will never be able to come to Sarajevo again and that kind of stuff. I have bunch of stuff to do as part of my college obligation and my little bro ended up in hospital, some shit with his lungs. You didn't balance roles in joke at all. I'm sick of this. Ask Atif (guitar player of Snake Eater, my other band which was also promoted in our fake statement) to play guitar in a band. Good luck."
Well, I though it's all a joke, I would probably never bought it if he didn't mention his little 10 year old bro. I know he loves the fuck out of him and I figured out it's not a thing to joke about. I've tried to call him, he didn't answer at all. Then I got really fucking worried.
I found out Kruno is online, and here is our chat translated in English:
S: It's all joke, for fuck sake.
K: He didn't take it as a joke. I'm gonna call him up. (few moments later) He says people are calling him all day long, cursing and swearing.
S: I've told him I'm gonna to that! He said it's fine!
K: You two are such a dicks.
S: Gimme his number, my phone is off.
K: He told me he's gonna shut his phone off, he's in hospital with his brother.
S: I'm such an idiot. Fuck. Such an idiot!
K: You two assholes messed me up, too!
S: I'm such an asshole, FUCK! Where's he now, in Zupanja or Osijek?
K: He's in Osijek with his bro, in hospital. We should meet, but he didn't come because of the situation.
S: Listen up, I don't know how, but I'm coming to Osijek tomorrow.
K: Don't do that, Atlija says he doesn't want talk or see you anymore.
S: Oh, fuck, come on!
K: It's like that. He said all the pressure of the joke and negativity was on him.
S: I joked. I' an idiot, but I also told him I'm gonna do that and HE SAID it's OK! I'm coming to Osijek tomorrow!
K: You see it's not a joke anymore.
S: I don't give a fuck! Gimme his phone number, I'm coming to Osijek tomorrow!!!
K: Talk to you later, gotta run!
S: Kruno, gimme his fucking phone number! My phone is down, don't make me arrange someone to drive me to Osijek today!!! (Kruno doesn't respond) Kruno, I'm calling my mother to give me a ride, I'm coming to Osijek right now, you hear me???!!! If it's a joke, tell me now, don't let me ask for favors, don't let my mom take unpaid day off!
K: Well...we're joking...hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahah
S: FUCKERS! GO TO FUCKING HELL! YOU'RE SUCH AN ASSHOLES etc....
As you can see, they got me. If he didn't mention bad health and his bro in one sentence, I would never fall for it. Later, I've called Atlija and he fucking screamed laughing in my ear. Fucker.
Luckily for me, my girlfriend wanted to joke around being pregnant. Good thing she didn't!
